Philography File # 026: Ananda Everingham

I had the chance to ask for his autograph during the recent Cinemalaya, specifically right before the gala screening of Adolf Alix’s “Kalayaan” where he plays the lead. He was very welcoming and craving for a small talk. Since I already saw the film before that, I told him that he could pass for a Filipino. I was surprised that he didn’t buy it outright. He was worried about his minimal speaking lines and I told him that those went fine. I asked him if he has seen the film and he nodded. He said that he’s aware that it requires a special audience, probably different from any mainstream film like “Shutter”. I asked for a picture with him for my red backpack series, thanked him and left.
